During medieval times, physicians did the job to restore the balance of the body's four humors. Trepanation, in which a hole is drilled through the skull to expose the brain, was a widespread practice in the ancient world. It has been performed, since prehistoric times, to treat such conditions as mental illness, seizures, migraines and head wounds. Had trepanation been performed on a patient such as 90 year old Irene Andre, the ancient medical practitioner would have actually been on the right track, according to Dr. Aubrey Okpaku of SouthCoast Neurosurgery, part of the Southcoast Health System. Okpaku says he used essentially the same ancient cure now called a craniotomy, but with the advantage of modern imaging techniques to tell him exactly where the blood on Irene's brain needed to be drained. Unlike the practice of ancient trepanation, however, Okpaku did not leave behind a large open hole in his patient's skull or keep the removed piece of bone as a charm against evil spirits. Though nobody would ordinarily think to compare the highly developed 21st century skills of Okpaku to his ancient predecessors, he himself did in Irene Andre's case. Okpaku has a distinguished history of high tech surgeries to his credit. Before coming to the Southcoast , he was part of the surgical team at Montefiore Medical Center in the Bronx, N. Y.

I dont think it was right for people to write messages in opposition of the Black Lives Matter movement, especially because Black Lives Matter isnt political. Ngeleka believes that overall, Wayne States administration does a good job of promoting equality and inclusiveness on its campus, although there are steps she said still need to be taken to provide a more welcoming environment for minority students or LGBTQ+ students. Ngeleka said that when she first came to Wayne State, she distanced herself from most clubs on campus except BSA and other groups consisting of minorities because of what she felt were barriers within the campus environment. But during her two years heading BSA, Ngeleka said she had the opportunity to express her opinions to both members of Wayne States administration and student senate. Ngeleka expressed her belief that the college didnt promote diversity enough in most of its advertising, telling members of the administration that more people of color should be featured in ads and magazines. People of all different ethnicities and religions should be showcased to the younger generations so that they can feel like theyre welcomed and safe, she said.

In Sheffield, which has two large universities, 808 students tested positive between Monday last week and Sunday. During the same period there were 1,532 positive tests in the city in total. This means 53 per cent of all positive tests there came from students. There appears to be a similar pattern in Manchester, although the evidence from universities there is more limited. Manchester Metropolitan University has so far not released positive test figures, although more than 1,500 students in university accommodation are known to be self isolating and there is a significant outbreak among the students there. The total number of tests in the city for the same period was 3,055. If a similar proportion of students tests positive at both universities then they would amount to more than 45 per cent of Manchester's total. David Regan, director of public health at Manchester council, said: 'This is the right thing to do and supports our approach using data and a local approach to contain outbreaks so that we reduce the possibility of further infection. The South Nepean Muslim Community was fundraising for a mosque in Barrhaven, while another group was busy with the Professional Muslim Network. The Canadian Council of Muslim Women was focused on issues like Sharia law. Nobody at the Sunni mosque saw much of the Shiites who had their own mosque in Vanier. And the Somali community had its own problems. Ali Khan was not able to get everyone on board, and many of the absences were glaring. The new Gatineau mosque; the Assalam mosque on St. Laurent Boulevard, where more than 1,500 pray every Friday; the Guyanese Caribbean Muslim Association and the Dar Assunah mosque all declined. Worse, the citys oldest and most influential mosque had not joined, even though Ali Khans new group was meeting in the mosques hall. The Ottawa Muslim Association, which Ali Khan had once led, had just been through vicious infighting over the imam, the spiritual leader of the congregation. One faction of the mosques board called for a North American who could speak clear English. Another defended the imam sent from Egypt, a young man educated at one of Islams most respected universities.
